Thermo Fisher Scientific Opens New Facility and Demonstration Laboratory
in
REINACH,
Switzerland (October 14, 2008) – Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the
world leader in serving science, today announced the opening of a new facility in Reinach, Switzerland, near Basel,
to support the large pharmaceutical and chemical industry cluster in
Switzerland near the French and German borders. The facility houses Thermo Fisher’s
analytical instrument operations and consolidates the Flux Instruments and
Spectronex product lines that were acquired from SwissAnalytic Group.
Formally
opened in September 2008, the new 12,000-square-foot facility features a 3,200
square foot state-of-the-art demonstration laboratory containing new Thermo
Scientific mass spectrometers and other laboratory instruments and consumables.
There, customers will have the ability to work closely with the company’s
technical experts to gain hands-on experience with new instrumentation. The facility
also houses recently relocated commercial operations for the Fisher Scientific sales
channel.
